Keratoconus is a progressive degeneration of the cornea, which can lead to significant vision loss if left undetected or unmanaged. This talk provides an insight into the management of keratoconus. It emphasizes the importance of primary care and explores it's surgical interventions, which include: corneal collagen crosslinking (CXL) and the various types of corneal graft procedures (DALK or PK).  CXL is a minimally invasive yet highly effective procedure, we will explore why this is important for you, as optometrists, to detect, monitor and refer keratoconic patients appropriately.
