This year’s ODSC is all about “Eye Opening Optometry” and the researchers of the department would like to show you our sometimes figurative and sometimes literal “eye opening” research. Back by popular demand, we are inviting students to take a tour through some of our laboratory facilities where our research takes place. You will have an opportunity to learn about both human clinical research (from the Downie, McKendrick and Vingrys labs), and animal model based research (from the Bui, Nguyen and Chinnery labs). On this tour, you will get to see inside our lab spaces, have a look at the equipment we use to conduct our research, and even get up close with some samples of our work. We look forward to opening your eyes to a side of optometry you might not have seen before – optometry led vision science research.
